Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a Disney pro, follow along for our step-by-step guide to an unforgettable Disney experience!

Day 1: Magic Kingdom

Nothing kicks off a Disney vacation quite like Magic Kingdom! The moment you walk down Main Street, U.S.A. and see Cinderella’s Castle, the magic truly begins.

Morning:

  • Arrive early for Rope Drop (park opening).
  • Head straight to the most popular rides: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Tiana’s Bayou to beat the crowds.
  • Grab a delicious breakfast snack at Gaston’s Tavern (the cinnamon roll is a must!) We also like Lafou’s Brew

Afternoon:

  • Enjoy classics like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Jungle Cruise.
  • Lunch at the quick service stand outside of Adventure Land – OMG the Cheeseburger Egg Rolls are to die for, trust me. I tried to recreate it one year with my own spin on the recipe, here.
  • Use Lightning Lane+ to reserve mid-afternoon attractions, or head pack to your resort for a dip in the pool.

Evening:

  • Secure a spot for Happily Ever After Fireworks – you don’t want to miss it!
  • End the night with a ride or a sweet treat from the Main Street Confectionery.

Day 2: EPCOT – Explore the World and Beyond

EPCOT combines future technology, global cultures, and amazing food (and drink).

Morning:

  • Rope Drop Frozen Ever After in the Norway Pavilion or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in France.
  • Or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Afternoon:

  • Tour the World Showcase:
    • Visit Mexico for the Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride (our FAVORITE RIDE!)
    • Stop by Japan for shopping and a refreshing kakigori (shaved ice).
    • Enjoy food and drinks from various countries as you stroll.
  • Lunch: Try Via Napoli in Italy for delicious pizza and wine. My daughter orders the spaghetti here and says it’s the best in the park.

Evening:

  • Ride Spaceship Earth, Check out Moana’s Way of Water and Living in the Land- both of these rides are WAY cooler when it’s dark out.
  • End the night with EPCOT’s stunning nighttime show: Luminous: The Symphony of Us (tip: the best views are near the Japan Pavilion, however we usually catch it on the bridge at the United Kingdom and walk back to our resort.

Day 3: Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Lights, Action, Adventure!

Hollywood Studios is the place for Star Wars fans, movie buffs, and thrill-seekers!

Morning:

  • Beeline to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
  • Don’t miss the Blue Milk…. alcohol and virgin options available.
  • Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land and then beat your kids in Toy Story Mania.
  • Grab breakfast at Sci-Fi (love the burgers) to cool off and allow the kids to be entertained.

Afternoon:

  • Enjoy shows like Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Frozen and Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage.
  • Ride classics like Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (Pro Tip: It will be closing very soon and turned into the Muppets Roller Coaster).

Evening:

  • Explore Galaxy’s Edge at night when the land glows beautifully.
  • End your day with Fantasmic!, the ultimate nighttime spectacular. Pro Tip: Sit in the back, the view is spectacular and you will be able to get out quickly when the show is over.

Day 4: Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Nature and Adventure

Animal Kingdom offers a perfect mix of exploration, thrill rides, and stunning visuals.

Morning:

  • Head straight to Avatar: Flight of Passage in Pandora (it’s breathtaking!).
  • Ride Expedition Everest for a high-speed thrill- we are riding this today for the first time.

Afternoon:

  • Go on a safari adventure with Kilimanjaro Safaris.
  • Explore trails like Gorilla Falls
  • Lunch at Yak and Yeti (so good!)

Evening:

  • Visit Pandora at dusk if you’re still at the park, we usually dip out after lunch.
  • Catch the Festival of the Lion King or Nemo show for an unforgettable performance.
  • End your day with a relaxing boat ride on Na’vi River Journey.

Tips to Maximize the Magic

  1. Genie+ and Lightning Lanes: Use these to skip long lines on popular rides, they are expensive though so you might not want to do this for each day.
  2. Mobile Ordering: Save time by ordering food via the My Disney Experience app.
  3. TAKE BREAKS! A midday break at your resort can recharge everyone, this is a must with little kids.
  4. Stay Hydrated: Bring a reusable water bottle to fill throughout the day.
  5. Capture the Moments: Don’t forget to take photos, but also try your best to enjoy being in the magic!

Final Thoughts

My Disney itinerary is designed to help you balance rides, dining, and those magical Disney experiences that make your trip unforgettable. Whether you’re watching fireworks, meeting characters, or tasting your way around EPCOT, there’s no place like Disney to make memories that will last a lifetime.
