Christmas morning in our house is loud and a little chaotic, but definitely in the best way.
With five kids, I’ve learned that the real holiday magic happens when the food is already done and I’m not stuck in the kitchen missing it all.
These are my favorite Christmas dishes—the ones I make every year because they are delicious and easy.
🎄 Christmas Morning Breakfast: Overnight Ham & French Toast Casserole
The night before, while the house is quiet, I prep everything.
Overnight Christmas Ham Sweet, savory, and perfectly tender—slow-cooked so it’s ready when we are. Plus, it makes your home smell amazing!
French Toast Casserole Custardy on the inside, golden on top, and made entirely ahead of time.
Together, they create a breakfast that feels festive but relaxed—I usually pair it with some scrambled eggs and a mimosa for mom 🙂
🎄 Christmas Dinner: Make-Ahead Lasagna
By the time dinner rolls around, everyone is tired and usually wearing pajamas again. That’s where make-ahead lasagna saves the day.
I assemble it in advance (usually Christmas Eve) tuck it in the fridge, and bake it when we’re ready.
✨ Why These Dishes Matter to Me
These meals aren’t about perfection or presentation. They’re about presence.
When the food is handled ahead of time, I get to be where I want to be—on the floor with the kids, on the couch with coffee, or around the table soaking it all in.
And that’s what Christmas is really about.
